Giants of the Sea

Humpback whales are true giants of the sea, reaching lengths of up to 60 feet (18.3 meters), weighing as much as 80,000 pounds, and living for up to 90 years. The males sing songs that can travel for up to 20 miles, and their presence is simply awe-inspiring. While encountering them during a voyage is rare, some lucky individuals have captured these incredible moments.

Photographer Tobias Hägg beautifully captured a humpback whale surfacing in the water using a drone. This photograph is a stunning example of the fusion of nature’s grandeur and the power of technology. It’s a remarkable record that shortens the distance between humans and these ocean giants.
