Dubai During Lockdown

Dubai is undoubtedly one of the busiest cities in the world. However, the global health crisis led to the closure of many bustling cities, including Dubai. What emerged was a sight no one could have imagined: roads completely devoid of cars.

This drone photograph, taken by photographer Bachir Moukarzel, who has been doing aerial photography since 2014, was part of a project called “The Lockdown Dubai.” The photo shows highways and major roads completely deserted, making it look like an abandoned city. Now that the city has reopened and health and safety regulations have been eased, such photos will be hard to come by.
