Safety First
Before the real fun begins, you’ll need to complete a mandatory safety drill—also called a muster drill. It usually happens within the first few hours of boarding and involves learning evacuation procedures and locating your assigned muster station. While not exciting, it’s an important part of cruise protocol to keep everyone safe.
With thousands of passengers trying to follow directions at the same time, it can feel like organized chaos. The alarms are loud, the lines are long, and it brings back memories of fire drills from school. Still, it’s over fairly quickly, and once it’s done, your vacation officially begins.
