#13 Industrial maintenance

Industrial maintenance if you get in at the right kinda place and are a curious person. Loads of downtime if you’re competent, access to millions of dollars of equipment, employers generally will pay for any training or further education. You get comfortable with the process of solving problems and how a wide variety of things work. It’s not glamorous, but my house is paid off in my 40s and my wife doesn’t have to work a 9-5 because the pay is decent. In a lot of ways, money goes further because i’ve been comfortable redoing EVERYTHING on a fixer upper from the 1920s to make it a house I plan to die in.
I dunno, as a man it’s good to feel useful. This is a wild world…. Shit is crazy and I don’t understand most of it or why. I’ve got very few answers and a lot of questions. But if the car is making a funny noise or the hot water stopped working I’m glad I can at least know I’ll have little issue getting to the bottom of it. Oh, scrap passes at the right facility can be a legitimate source of income.
