Too Strange to Believe
Lily did what any child would do: she ran down the stairs and looked for her parents. She didn’t know exactly what was going on, but she could tell that something was wrong. At first, neither her mother, Hilly, or her father, Oscar, understood what Lily was trying to tell them. What did she mean, there were “strange eggs under her bed”? They brushed it off as a child telling stories. But Lily continued to insist that they came upstairs.
Seeing how scared their daughter was, Oscar and Hilly realized that something more serious must be going on. They followed Lily upstairs and asked her to show them the eggs.
