Sprouts
Many people like to include sprouts in their diet because they are considered healthy. It’s true that sprouts add minerals and vitamins to meals, but they can actually be quite bad for people over 60. Sprouts can contain harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella. People with weakened immune systems are more susceptible to infection from these bacteria.

If you do eat them, make sure they are cooked thoroughly. If not, it’s best to avoid them altogether and try a different vegetable.
