18. Son of the Mask (IMDb: 2.3)

Tim Avery, a cartoonist, discovers the magical Mask of Loki, which grants cartoonish powers. When his infant son wears it, chaos ensues as the baby causes mayhem, forcing Tim to retrieve it before Loki’s son claims it for evil purposes.
This sequel is panned for abandoning the original’s edgy humor in favor of family-friendly slapstick that’s painfully unfunny, with Jamie Kennedy miscast and over-the-top effects that look dated. The plot is convoluted, characters unlikeable, and jokes fall flat. Acting is hammy, direction frantic, and it feels like a cheap cash-in. Critics call it a soulless, joyless mess that ruins the Mask legacy, best avoided unless for ironic viewing with MST3K-style commentary.
