Alex told Oscar that there had only ever been three known cases of this virus in the world, so there was still a lot for doctors to learn about it. They had some ideas for potential cures, but these were all currently hypothetical. However, there was a ray of hope. One cure stood out to researchers, and it seemed like it would be effective if it could be properly developed. They just needed Lily’s condition to remain stable.
Though there was some hope, Oscar was still devastated. His daughter was at risk from a virus that nobody understood. It was rare and had deadly potential, and Lily was still so young.
