Okay, so in this pic, you’ve got George Harrison, the Beatles’ guitarist and singer-songwriter, hangin’ with Pattie Boyd. She was a model back in the day, and later became a photographer and author – and, yeah, George’s ex-wife. This was smack-dab in the middle of one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most infamous love triangles, the one with Harrison and Eric Clapton. Fun fact: Clapton’s legendary track “Layla”, plus basically most of the songs from his “Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs” album, were totally inspired by his actual feelings for Boyd while she was still hitched to Harrison.

Here’s the crazy part: Clapton and Harrison were best buds when Clapton penned that song about his unrequited love for Boyd! But, honestly, Harrison’s constant marital blunders and general neglect eventually got to Boyd, and she just couldn’t take it anymore. She finally decided to ditch Harrison and shacked up with Clapton. Even though she chose Clapton, Boyd, who’s now 74, stayed friends with Harrison. This lasting bond stuck even through Harrison’s battle with cancer, which sadly led to his passing in 2001.
