28. The Zombie Survival Kit

Despite being 100% fictional, the zombie apocalypse has inspired real business ventures. One such venture was the Zombie Survival Kit—a branded backpack filled with knives, water, snacks, and first aid supplies, all marketed as “undead-ready.” Crowdfunded successfully, it sold out multiple times online.

While technically just a fancy emergency kit, the zombie theme made it feel edgy and fun. Preppers, horror fans, and gag-gift shoppers loved it. It’s a case of how adding storytelling and fear (even fictional fear) to an ordinary product can suddenly make it way more appealing—and profitable.
