Managing a Lot of Work

Even one child can generate a significant amount of mess and chores, but the McCaugheys had eight. Managing the constant clutter, dirty laundry, and general chaos of a large family was a massive undertaking. Reports indicated that they averaged around 17 loads of laundry per week.

Because they aimed to keep their family life private, they often handled most of the household tasks themselves. Fortunately, they were equipped with two washing machines and two dryers, which greatly helped in tackling the mountain of laundry.
