While the McCaugheys had already done an admirable job cutting down their monthly costs, they knew there was still more they could do. To save even more, they began growing their own fruits and vegetables, which provided not only a free food source but also an organic one.

Thanks to their backyard garden, they were able to significantly reduce their grocery expenses. The only thing missing to make their mini-farm complete was a cow.
