Olaf Scholz & Britta Ernst
Olaf Scholz joined the SPD (Social Democratic Party) at the age of 17 and married SPD politician Britta Ernst in 1998. He began his professional career as a lawyer specializing in labor law. In December 2021, he was elected Chancellor of Germany, having previously held various political offices, including Vice-Chancellor and Finance Minister from 2018 to 2021, and Mayor of Hamburg from 2011 to 2018.
Britta Ernst has been the Minister for Education, Youth and Sport in Brandenburg since 2017. Prior to this, she held significant political offices, including Minister for Education and Vocational Training in Schleswig-Holstein and as a member of the Bundesrat (Federal Council) for Brandenburg.
