A few hours ago, Oscar had thought the worst. His little girl had been in a deep sleep, plagued by a virus that may have no cure. But now, Lily’s eyes were open, and he and his wife were finally allowed to embrace her. Lily remained groggy, but did manage to ask what had happened. The last thing she fully remembered was being at the house with the eggs. Oscar kept what he had learned to himself.
